Who Really Stays In Hard Times? Geetu Parmar On Relationships, Faith And Legacy

"Within an hour of my death, everyone will get a call: the body has to be taken out at this time. So what did I earn?"

On the Accompany Akki podcast, astrologer Geetu Parmar spoke with host Akash Kumar about how people treat us in good and bad times, why worldly relationships are temporary, and the one legacy she believes truly matters.

Good times vs hard times

According to Geetu:

• In good times, even people who barely know you claim you as family.
• In hard times, even close relatives may turn away, worried you'll ask for money.
• In difficult moments, she believes, only God stays.

Nothing in this world is truly ours

"No one is truly your own. Not even this body," Geetu said. The closer we move to God, she believes, the further we move from the false world.

Host Akash Kumar shared a similar belief, referring to Lord Krishna's teaching that our only true kin is Him.

Why she doesn't tie rakhi to her brother

Geetu shared that she has a real brother and holds no grudges against him. But she sees it as a worldly relationship that lasts only as long as life, so she ties rakhi only to her papa.

Respect that depends on presence

Geetu says the pride her family feels in her today is tied to her presence. "Until when? Until this body exists." After death, she said, within an hour arrangements are made and life moves on.

What we really earn in life

In Geetu's view, two things last:

1. Our connection with God
2. What people say after we're gone: that we never wronged anyone

Her one prayer

Geetu asks God for one thing: that when she leaves, a huge crowd, not just her family, genuinely mourns her because she never did wrong to anyone. "If I've earned that, my life is successful."

Lessons for everyday life

This section is general guidance, not from the conversation.

1. Notice who stands by you in hard times, and value them.
2. Stand by others when they're struggling.
3. Treat people fairly, even when no one is watching.
4. Measure success by how you treat people, not just what you own.
5. Ask yourself what people would say about you today.

Key takeaways

• Many relationships change with our circumstances.
• Respect tied to position is temporary.
• Faith gives Geetu a sense of permanence.
• The legacy that lasts is never wronging others.
• A meaningful life is measured by the people whose lives we touched.
